Sweet Potato - Apple Puree

Flax seeds are a wonderful food to introduce to babies at the 9-10 month range. 
They are ready for different textures at this point and all the Omega 3s in flax seeds will be a wonderful brain booster for the little ones! 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 sweet potato 
  • 1/2 apple 
  • 1/2 Tablespoon flax seeds 

Preparation

  1. Grind the flax seeds in a coffee grinder or a blender until a very smooth meal is made. 
  2. Peel and cook in a little bit of water or bake the sweet potatoe until it is very soft. 
  3. Peel the apple and cut into small chunks and cook it in the same water as the sweet potatoe for just a few minutes until it is slightly tender. 
  4. Using a hand blender or food processor, purée both the sweet potato and the apple until it's very smooth. Incorporate the flax seed meal into the purée and serve.
